AASL Celebrated World Environment Day 2021.

AASL Celebrated World Environment Day 2021. 'Reimagine. Recreate. Restore.' Airport and Aviation Services (Sri Lanka) (Private) Limited celebrated World Environment Day with a tree planting and root balling event at Nagona Lagoon, Katunayake with the participation of  Major General (Rtd) G.A. Chandrasiri, Chairman AASL, Mr. Aruna Sri Warushahennedige, Director Aviation Projects, several senior officials of AASL and officers of the Bandaranaike International Airport Development Project (BIADP) Stage II Phase II. Around 200 trees located in the airport premises with high environmental value are root balled and now ready to replant at AASL’s Lagoon land. In addition to that, around 200 trees have been earmarked to preserve onsite.

Chairman AASL, made a visit to inspect the progress of the new emigration area

Major General (Rtd) G. A. Chandrasiri, Chairman AASL, made a visit to inspect the progress of the new emigration area expansion at BIA Terminal 01 which is nearing completion.  Under the BIA Terminal 1 expansion project, 23 new emigration counters will be added at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) and this improved and expanded design will offer a new experience to our valued passengers on their happy journey through BIA.

State Minister’s Visit to BIA Terminal T2 Construction Site

Hon. D V Chanaka, State Minister of Civil Aviation and Export Zone Development, had an official visit to the BIA Terminal 2 construction site (15th Saturday). Major General (Rtd.) G. A. Chandrasiri, Chairman, Airport and Aviation Services (Sri Lanka) (Private) Limited and the senior officials of AASL and Project Management Unit (PMU) participated in this event.

Second Dose of COVID-19 Vaccination Program for Airport Staff.

Airport and Aviation Services (Sri Lanka) (Private) Limited (AASL) rolled out the second dose of COVID-19 vaccination program for its staff at airports in coordination with the Sri Lanka Health Authorities and the company medical center. Our workforce vaccination program is another step forward to safeguard our colleagues who serve many passengers who walk through our doors at our airports and also assist to move essential goods around the world.   The 2nd inoculation drive began for the staff who received the first dose and the vaccine is introduced to all on a voluntary basis. Under this program, over 4000 AASL and other employees of related institutions were covered from 10th to 13th of May 2021. The program was launched under the guidance of Major General (Rtd.) G. A. Chandrasiri, Chairman of Airport and Aviation Services (Sri Lanka) (Private) Limited (AASL).

BIA Terminal 2 Development Project (Phase II, Stage 2) Progressing to Meet the Post COVID-19 Tourism and Aviation Growth

BIA Terminal 2 Development Project is underway to meet the future demands of the tourism and the aviation industry. Airport & Aviation Services (Sri Lanka) (Private) Limited – (AASL) commenced the construction of the BIA terminal 2 in December 2020 and the construction activities are underway despite the challenges of COVID-19 global pandemic. Project Progress: Package A New Passenger Terminal Building and Associated Works: The construction works of the new terminal 2 commenced on 15 th December 2020 and it is expected to complete the project on 14 th December 2023. AASL Continues the BIA Terminal 2 Construction Project Amidst Challenges

Chairman, Airport & Aviation Services Sri Lanka Private Ltd, Major General (Rtd.) G. A. Chandrasiri made an inspection visit to the BIA Terminal II Development Project site. The Chairman inspected the progress of ongoing piling work, root balling process in the project site, and the asphalt work progress in the apron and taxiways. Head of Projects- AASL, Project Director (PMU), Project Manager (JAC) & Project Manager (Taisei), and senior officials involved in the project accompanied the inspection visit.
